Thanks to the Outside The Nine Slipknot Fan Club, I was invited to an exclusive Meet and Greet with members of the band before their recent headlining stint on the Rockstar Mayhem Fest tour at DTE.
Slipknot, unlike most other bands, actually has what I consider a REAL Fan Club.
The OT9 membership perks include the obligatory ticket presale opportunities, but also feature yearly gift packages with patches, DVD's, photographs, and super cool contests like the one I recently won.
After just a few clicks and a few emails, I got the chance to head to the BACKSTAGE patio area at Pine Knob, along with 9 other lucky winners, for a quick and private autograph session with three of the Slipknot members. Then, a professional photographer took individual photos of each of us with the guys.

For this particular Meet and Greet, the guys decided to wear the rarely seen "Death Masks" which were featured in their 'Vermillion' video off of their incredible 'Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)' release.

I absolutely loved the chance to greet these guys, look them in the eyes, and thank them for taking the time to meet with their fans. Slipknot is a massively talented band full of true Rockstars and it was SO COOL just to be in the presence of their greatness.
Thanks OT9, Clown, Corey, and Chris! On a frantic and hectic day of metal, this event was a welcome and exceptional respite.
Yeah, I know...
